Black Phone: Movie Review

Image
BLACK PHONE: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 3.5/5 This movie, is straight out creepy. The story of a kidnapping killer, who kidnaps a kid who can speak to the spirits of the previous victims through a black phone in the basement where he is locked up makes for a good movie. Ethan Hawke just delivers with his acting and honestly there couldn't have been a better casing for this. If you love horror movies, this is one to watch, mainly because it is just the essence of horror without actual dangerous spirits.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara: Movie Review

Image
ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 5/5 This is what we can call, the perfect Bollywood movie. Honestly, people making Bollywood movies should learn from Zoya Akhtar what screenwriting and directing is.  The movie is just perfect, from the casting, to the story, to the music, to the camerawork, to the direction and even to the filming location. Zoya does nothing wrong. When you have Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhey Deol, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechellin, you really can't expect bad acting. Honestly, this is a must watch movie

Creed 3: Movie Review

Image
CREED 3: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 3.5/5 This movie brings the story back to Adonis Creed. This time, the threat is worse. Adonis has retired and is greeted by an old friend, Damian, who is played my Johnathan Majors.  The man, may seem like his friend at first, but he ain't. This movie, has Creed, fight for what boxing stands for, because Damian doesn't care about the sport, he cares about revenge. Creed to save the sport he loves has to come out of retirement and fight one of the toughest fights of his life. The movie is Michael B Jordan's first directorial, and honestly, he did not disappoint.  The other great part is that, there is no Rocky in this movie, it is all Creed. Overall, a great watch and a very good movie.

Creed 2: Movie Review

Image
CREED 2: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 3/5 The sequel to the amazing Creed movie, is not as good as the first, but still a good movie. This movie has Adonis as world champion and then is challenged by Ivan Drago's son, Viktor Drago. Ivan, being the man who killed his father, Adonis looks for revenge.  This movie deviates from the fact that this is the story of Adonis Creed, and not Rocky. Because a lot of the story's focus shifts towards Rocky. This story, also shows the clear mind someone needs when they box, the fact that anger does not always help you win.  Overall, this is still a good movie, nonetheless.

Creed: Movie Review

Image
CREED: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 3.5/5 The first Creed movie, taking place years after the Rocky movies, we see Michael B Jordan take the role of Adonis Creed, the infedile son of Apollo Creed. A man, who is connected to boxing and pursues this career, even though everyone who knew his father told him not to. This was until he met Rocky Balboa, who trains him to be a professional. Ryan Coogler, just never seems to miss, he always delivers beautiful movies and this is no exception, The music, camerawork, direction and acting were just amazing. This is a very good movie and honestly an amazing watch.

Don't Breathe: Movie Review

Image
DON'T BREATHE: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 3/5 This is a good movie. A movie about 3 friends who try to rob a blind man who may have over 300 thousand dollars in his house, which is in an abandoned neighborhood, is one that is sure to get you creeped out. The actors have done a good job, and the direction and camerawork was commendable. The part which you enjoy about this movie, is the fact that it isn't your usual jump scare type horror movie, it is something that instills fear in you with every event and every second. Honestly, it is a watchable movie, and should be watched if you want to.

Your Name: Movie Review

Image
YOUR NAME: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 3.5/5 This is a beautifully made anime movie. A movie that has two people switching bodies every time they go to sleep, but with the twist that they are 3 years apart in the timeline.  The job is to save a village from a meteor that would strike the entire village. This story is so beautiful, with two people learning to adapt to living in 2 peoples bodies on alternate days and then keeping track with each other.  The growth of friendship and love is just beautiful. The animation is done very well. Honestly, a must-watch.

Kal Ho Naa Ho: Movie Review

Image
KAL HO NAA HO: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 3/5 This emotional, love story/tragedy, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta, is a movie that hurts you emotionally. The story of two people who love each other so much, but one cant tell the other he doesn't have time left and devotes the rest of his time alive to get her and her best friend together. This movie is a blend of funny, cute, happy, sad and emotional.  The songs in this movie are just amazing, from songs like Pretty Woman to Kal Ho Naa Ho to Maahi Ve, this movie had songs that just hit. You can cry to Kal Ho Naa Ho, and dance to the beats of It's the Time to Disco. The only main issue I have with this movie is the cringe dialogue in parts and the 3-hour runtime, which i feel is very long. Still a great watch if you want to cry.

John Wick 4: Movie Review

Image
JOHN WICK 4: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 4/5 This Keanu Reeves starrer is the best of the series. The movie picking off just after the events of Parabellum. The new villain Bill Skarsgard did an amazing job. This 3 hour movie had some amazing camerawork and visuals. One fight scene is like a video game. The movie has about 3 to 4 fight scene lasting around 20 minutes each. Using up the most of the 3 hours. This movie also gives the perfect ending to the arc of the Baba Yaga, John Wick. A must-watch

Shehzada: Movie Review

Image
SHEHZADA: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 1/5 The Hindi remake of the Telugu hit movie that starred Allu Arjun. This movie is a big disappointment, No one can call it a proper remake. They kept to the core concept of the story and changed minor details. The thing about doing that is that those small details end up ruining the movie massively because of the way the original was made. Each action related to the next.  So having these tiny changes ruin the movie The only good thing I would say is Kartik Aryan's wit as the character Bantu which suits him and Kriti Sanon who delivers great acting performances no matter what. Honestly, just watch the Telugu version and forget this version even exists. If you want to see the actors together, watch Lukka Chuppi.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani: Movie Review

Image
YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 4.5/5 The almost perfect movie. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, who ironically made the crappy Bramhastra. This movie just has everything you want. It has a stellar cast, music that hits hard, amazing story, acting, camerawork, views and what not. The story of a man who forgets what home is when his dream is to travel, leaving his best friends and family behind to come back after8 years for his best friend's wedding to slowly realize what he was missing. The side plot of the heroine liking the man, which also kind of merged with the main plot. This movie is easily of the most rewatchable movies ever.  A must-watch for any musical movie lover.

Memento: Movie Review

Image
MEMENTO: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 4/5 The movie that brought the legend Christopher Nolan into the spotlight. Memento is a movie so well-made in its non-linear format, that it cemented the Nolan movie style for the future. This movie is edited in a backwards format. We start at the end and slowly make our way to the start. Linking all those missing pieces. This movie shows us how deceptive our minds out, how our minds fool us, so we feel included and useful. Guy Pierce's acting is a masterclass and so is the rest of the cast, and for a movie made on a budget given by people who promote movies AKA crowd funders. The way this movie was done is just super. The twist at the end is a shocker. A must-watch for all.

American Psycho: Movie Review

Image
AMERICAN PSYCHO: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 3.5/5 This is a movie that has been written in a very complex manner. This is mostly due to the complexity of the character, Patrick Bateman. Christian Bale does a marvelous job of portraying a psychotic killer who is not so easily understood. Bateman in this story is portrayed as a man of cynical values and psychotic pleasures, which he acts upon. In many parts of this movie you begin to respect Bateman for certain qualities but also learn to hate him for other qualities.  This really divulges into the 3-dimensional characteristics of psychotic people. This movie being ever so disturbing is a great watch and I personally wouldn't give any complaints other than the fact that putting a 400-page book into a movie of less than 2 hours makes you compress the story, which really does not help it positively. Otherwise, a must-watch.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham: Movie Review

Image
KABHI KHUSHI KABHI GHAM: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 1/5 This movie is just downright terrible, in terms of runtime, camerawork and screenplay. This 3.5 hour movie conveys a story which can be done so much better in less than 2 hours of runtime. Karan Johan just cannot make a good movie.  The only thing that gives this movie even a 1 star is the cast and music. Otherwise, I would have killed myself watching this shit movie. Honestly, do not watch this movie. Save yourself the pain

Murder Mystery 2: Movie Review

Image
MURDER MYSTERY 2: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 1.5/5 I can't even begin to explain what went wrong with this movie. They overdid the comedy, which ruined the movie, unlike the first one. They had the shittiest plot I've seen in a comedy/mystery movie. The villain reveal was made to look like it was a surprise, when it was the most obvious thing ever. I know terrible writers who make a better story than this piece of shit. The only thing that holds this movie and makes it even like a bit bearable is Jennifer Aniston, Adam Sandler and the fact they wear Indian attire for a part of this movie.  Otherwise, this movie can be classified as, if I have to put it kindly, dog shit. Do not watch this movie. Just the first one is more than enough.

Dead Poet's Society: Movie Review

Image
DEAD POET'S SOCIETY: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 4/5 The dead poet's society was a movie way ahead of its time. You have Robin Williams (R.I.P.) and a young Ethan Hawke, with multiple other great actors. The movie about breaking the status quo and the beauty of the English language with poetry, wit and wisdom makes this movie one worth watching. A movie with a plethora of dialogue that resonate with you. The words "Carpe diem" is something one learns to live by after this movie.  This is a must-watch for anyone of age. Robin Williams in this movie is certainly the captain. And his call sign "Oh, Captain, My captain" make this cult movie something that will be watched even 30 years from now.

John Wick Chapter 3 Parabellum: Movie Review

Image
JOHN WICK CHAPTER 3 PARABELLUM: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 3.5/5 The third installment of the John wick franchise had Keanu Reeves back as the assassin John Wick or Baba Yaga. This time, only he is excommunicado and is being hunter left, right and center. This movie has around three fight sequences, all of them amazing. They have been crafted in such a way that is is messy, yet beautiful. The fight scenes are like a music video in a sense. The camera work and choreography is just better, and the story is amazing. With Halle Berry also in this movie, there isn't a lot to hate. The reason this movie doesn't rate higher is because, there are just better movies.

John Wick Chapter 2: Movie Review

Image
JOHN WICK CHAPTER 2: MOVIE REVIEW RATING - 3.5/5 The Boogeyman/Baba Yaga/ John Wick is back with a 2-hour-long movie that uses its time well with 2 25 minute fight sequences and a few short ones along the way. This movie really goes with the dialogue Winston uses in the first movie. John dipped his pinky into the pond, something from the depths came back to him. The movie is very well-rounded, with great character arcs and story continuation. The introduction of a new character in this movie will prove important for the future. The camerawork, acting and music is just as good or even a slight bit better than the first movie. Honestly, a great watch.
