Love Today: Movie Review

Image
LOVE TODAY: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 4.5/5 This has to be the best Tamil movie released this year. It was a comedy filled, meaning filled and overall amazing movie. This movie is a concept never thought of before, and I think it will go on to become a cult classic. The movie deals with the issues with technology, the freedom men think they have to abuse women because they are behind a screen, deep faking, abuse, trauma, friendship, love, trust and just a bunch of other things really well.  There are some real tear-jerkers in this movie. Yuvan in the music sect has just out done himself in this entire movie.  The character arcs along with acting was just phenomenal.  This movie is a theater movie and also a home movie, which is kind of rare.  The best character has to be Mr. Yogi. The guy just keeps giving world-class performances one after another. His character in the movie is just great with one of the most heart hitting monologues and I just relate to the character a ...

Star Wars New Hope: Movie Review

STAR WARS NEW HOPE: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 4/5 Star Wars new hope, even being called episode 4, was the first movie that came out in the Star Wars movie. This movie creates a cult for fans to just enjoy. Seeing Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Vader for the first time is just another feeling. This movie just gets you hooked and with John Williams on BGM duty, you are looking at a movie that just kills. You will enjoy every minute of the movie, I am giving this movie 4 stars because there are just movies that are better.

Black Panther Wakanda Forever: Movie Review

BLACK PANTHER WAKANDA FOREVER: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 4.5/5 When I saw this movie, one thing comes to mind. The perfect tribute. Wakanda Forever is the perfect tribute to Chadwick Boseman and is the best movie made to make the story of Wakanda Move on. I'd like to review this movie section by section without spoiling anything. So this is going be a bit lengthy. The movie synopsis start with the fact that T'Challa is dead, which everyone knows. So well, the movie is a showpeice on how each person who was close to T'Challa moved on. This movie also made it clear that even though a new black panther is taking the mantle, Boseman will be THE BLACK PANTHER.  The villain, Namor is a well done villain, especially the way he is portrayed, he has the combined thinking of both T'Challa and Killmonger. He has the utmost care for his people but wants to exert his revenge on all the world. His people being the Talokan. In terms of cameos, you obviously know that Martin Freeman is in ...

Minions: Rise Of Gru: Movie Review

Image
MINIONS: RISE OF GRU: MOVIE REVIEW RATING:2/5 This is, well, not the best movie involving anything to do with the despicaverse as I like to call it. It ruins despicable me 2 because they show GRU knew the AVL whereas in DM2 he didn't, so it didn't make sense. A lot of unnecessary comedy and cheesy dialogue and a lot of characters that should come in much later come in this story. It is just poor writing and poor execution.

Poniyin Selvan Part-1: Movie Review

Image
PONIYIN SELVAN PART 1: MOVIE REVIEW RATING:3.5/5 The third and only good Mani Ratnam movie I have seen is Poniyin Selvan. This movie about the Chola empire, an empire that was great but was forgotten by textbooks in today's age.  This movie gives a great fictional story, using the language structure of that time and having great historical accuracy without any fuck-ups is nice. The stellar cast and A.R Rahman with the music are just a few things that make this movie enjoyable.  Poniyin Selvan is a movie that should be used as a certain benchmark to rate Indian movies. The story structure of this movie should be what movies like Brahmasta or even your historical upcoming movies like Adipurush should aim to achieve. The character detailing is flawless.  Again, this movie has the potential of receiving a 4, but I give it a 3.5 because I am excited to see what they do in part -2 and I wouldn't want to give such a high judgment for a movie only in its first part.

Brahmastra Part 1 Shiva: Movie Review

Image
BRAHMASTA PART 1 SHIVA: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 1.5/5 This move does almost everything wrong. They give a love story more screen time than actual story and wonder why the movie gets bad reviews. The idea is great, but execution is terrible. The music is great and so are the VFX.  You actually might think that giving a Bollywood director ten years to make a movie would be a good idea. It isn't. The only movie that was worse than this for me was Vikram this year.  The first half makes you want to kill yourself. The only thing that held this movie up was Alia and Ranbir. Their acting was great. You could see the chemistry between them, even though it took a lot of screen time.

Enola Holmes 2: Movie Review

Image
ENOLA HOLMES 2: MOVIE REVIEW RATING:3.5/5 Enola Holmes 2 is a great movie. It is filed with twists and surprise reveals. It is a joy to see Enola and Sherlock work together, and the love story that slowly unfolds between Enola and Tewksbury is just pure genius. I could rarely find a negative in this movie. Towards the end, you can finally see everything fit in, and it just brings it back to a perfect ending.  The only reason it gets a 3.5 would be it kind of dragged towards the middle and it not as good as movies that I personally would rate higher

KGF Chapter 2: Movie Review

Image
KGF CHAPTER 2:  MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 4/5 This movie was just better than the first. The love story finally made sense. Adheera was just an amazing antagonist. You got what essentially the Godfather 3 should have aimed for, an anti-hero going out on his own terms. The action, the dialogue, everything just fits. It just doesn't click as a 5-star movie, so I had to give it a 4. When you compare it to other great movies, personally I feel this is the perfect spot for this movie

KGF Chapter 1: Movie Review

KGF CHAPTER 1: MOVIE REVIEW Rating: 3.5/5 This was a fun movie to watch. Enjoyed almost every moment of this movie. The only complaint I have to give was the love story, that was just stoopid, otherwise. Great movie

Pushpa: Movie Review

Image
PUSHPA: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 3/5 Pushpa as a movie was really fun to watch. It is an anti-hero story with a well structures character build and acting performances that deliver well on screen. There are a few negatives that bring this movie to the 3-star rating.  The first one was the love story, which according to me was unnecessary and just a way to add screen time. The other was the addition of Oo Antava Mama, which is a great song to as itself but also takes up screen time, but not the most, so it isn't a huge issue. The ending was pretty good, and it excites you for part 2.

Vikram: Movie Review

Image
VIKRAM: MOVIE REVIEW RATING: 1/5 Vikram as a movie, was a roller coaster ride to say the least. It went from a great first half to a terrible second half. The first half was almost perfect, it had a great reveal, a level of mystery and a great introduction to the character. In the second half, you have a lot of the pace ruined with speeches from characters. Towards the end, the entire integrity of Fadah Fasil's character is thrown out of the window. A child who has no pulse wakes up after like 15 minute (please explain that). You have random characters who end up being agents, including a maid who is Agent Tina, which by the way makes me laugh when I think about it.  The only character who stayed on point was Vijay Sethupathi's character. The final fight scenes were going well until the end where suddenly you have a key to the cuffs conjure on Kamal Hassan's finger, which unless he went to Hogwarts, shouldn't be possible. The Rolex reveal at the end was pretty good. Th...

RRR: Movie Review

Image
RRR: MOVIE REVIEW RATING : 3/5 RRR, is a movie with a great storyline filled with certain flaws. The main flaw in this movie being the fact that hey have taken real historical characters and made them essentially superhuman. Rajamouli in Bahubali at least took a fictional character with his destiny being written whereas in RRR, you have someone like Alluri Sitarama Raju doing stunts and fixing a broken leg in a few minutes that wouldn't be possible in real life. It is not that unrealism is bad for a movie, u can make a character invincible, but when you take a real life historical figure and make him indestructible and have him fix his bones in a few minutes it takes the fun out of the movie. The songs on the other hand are amazing.  Another reason this movie did not hold up well for me was the pace of the story, it was sidelined a few times, which really just took up unnecessary screen time. Overall it was a pretty decent movie
